STORM WATER INFORMATION
Phase II Storm Water Program
On March 10, 2003, the U.S. EPA and Ohio EPA Phase II Storm Water Rules went into effect. These rules require designated communities to develop and implement a storm water management plan.

The City of Ashtabula Storm Water Program was created to assist communities in Ashtabula County and Northeast Ohio in reaching their storm water management plan goals.
The City of Ashtabula’s Storm Water Program includes the following activities

Inventory of MS4 outfall locations

Dry weather inspections of MS4 outfall locations

Sampling of dry weather flows from MS4 outfalls

IDDE source tracking

Development of a Regional Storm Water Database
Public Involvement and Public Education Outreach

Educational outreach for school-aged children including non-point source and point source pollution education

Adult seminars on non-point source pollution

Coordination of stream cleanups

Volunteer monitoring of streams
